Music video:
- Multiplicity of incomplete sometimes obscure paths.
- Order of shots - Unconventional as it shifts more freely between shots.
- Time space, character and narrative are revealed incompletely.
- Discontinuity; a pop video draws us away the narrative by are revealed incompletely.
- Visual hooks create continuity. Non continuous shots linked by a single feature.
- Sometimes all elements are equal and sometimes one is dominant.
Hollywood film:
- Single clear path through film's world.
- Order of shots - conventional. Typical shot order.
- Unity of time and space.
- Continuity, the film draws us into narrative.
